Not beating about the bush let"s see what the patio area looked like before and after.
And some still photos of the same area..
The next stage planned for this garden by the owners is to lay artificial grass - someone else"s job as we don"t do it.
Due to the above the edges around the new patio have been left as is.
Gate repair - December 2018
From start to finish this company was very professional. I even received a video of the job that had been completed. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be using them in the future for our customers.
One of us was responsible for cutting itself whilst the other for tidiness afterwards. I think both of us have done a brilliant job ! 🙂
And here we have started ... Lonicera"s are in as a frame for some flowering perennials - we"ve given them 5 enclosures, one more than originally planned. Also some background along the fence - this one is my favourite plant.. wait and see for yourself, we should have that completed shortly.
Now waiting for more plants to be delivered..

Completed fence painting.
I was the estate manager for a well-known spa hotel with extensive grounds, and can honestly say that I wish I had access to the Tidy Gardens team back then. Pawel (or Paul if you prefer) is knowledgeable and extremely hard-working, and unusually, exceeds expectations on a regular basis. I wholeheartedly recommend Tidy Gardens for whatever jobs you need doing in your garden.
July 2018 - Paul and his team came for just one day to do a major overhaul in our large and very overgrown garden to prepare it for rental. They were extremely polite and efficient, and finished the whole front and back garden well within one day - it was an amazing transformation, they also took away all the green waste that was created that day. We were really impressed - so much so that we have asked him to quote for a fence renovation and even more clearance at the back of our garden. Many thanks to Paul and the team!
We had Paul last year to sort out our back garden after we moved to a new address as it was so overgrown. We were extremely pleased so he returned to renovate our front garden after we had finished the house refurbishment. Again Paul and his colleague Eddie worked tirelessly and after only a few days the garden was looking lovely and pristine, and easily manageable, just what we wanted. He has good ideas and again it is better than if we had done it ourselves without his input. We would definitely recommend Tidy Gardens to anyone who wants a garden makeover or help to keep it tidy.
A very good read found today.
Please follow this link and let us know your thoughts !
I think prices mentioned there are a bit on higher side but nevertheless it’s worth few minutes of your time to read it.
Done three jobs today !
Second one was some turfing of a front garden. We"ve done edges on Friday so it was to finish it all off.
Here"s some photos
A third one was a tiny garden clearance before some major make over takes places ( light, tiles, metal railing and planting ) We are going to do planting and some landscaping so please watch this space !
Returfing around 80m2 but also flattening future lawn areas and creating two flower beds separated with some oak sleepers.
We asked Paul at Tidy Gardens to undertake a major garden clearance - topping out overgrown trees, taking out and thinning bushes and general ground clearance. Not only did his team do an outstanding job, but was flexible around timing, offered us great advice and even kept the neighbours happy. We could not recommend him highly enough to others who need either a major makeover like us or regular maintenance.
Just an old falling apart panel fence changed to close board fence with concrete posts and concrete gravel boards. Total height 5"
It wasn"t our first visit to this garden. Not so long ago we"ve also done some work there.. and we got few words from a customer then !
please read a review under this link
We have had to wait awhile for our desired plants but when they arrived, we"ve come and planted them same day !
Plants to include a colourful line of euonymouses , phlox and erysimum as ground cover, a couple of nice viburnums and weigellas, also some lovely sarcococcas and cryptomeria.
Here"s some photos. Please share your thoughts with us by making a comment under this post !
Thanks for looking !
We asked Paul to come and tidy our very overgrown garden. He did an excellent job. He is hard working, professional and well priced. We would definitely recommend him and may even have him back for further work in the future. Big thanks
Over here in Reading / Berkshire a very common soil type is clay, if not heavy clay. Clay soil is a good base to build on, but you can"t just leave it to itself.
What are clay soils like?
I do recommend to mix clay soil with lots of compost ( 50/50 ratio ) that help with drainage. It"s easily achieved when setting up new areas / flower beds, but what if we have a lawn sitting on
heavy clay soil ? We could still make considerable improvement !
Lawn aeration is one of them
I was searching for someone to help get my garden ready for the summer and allow me a little more time to enjoy it! Upon meeting Paul for the initial quote, he was full of ideas and enthusiasm and to my surprise said he could start three days later.
Paul and his wing man turned up promptly in sub zero temperatures and worked with speed, focus and accuracy for two full days.
They re-did the entire rear fence, cleared substantial overgrown areas, removed one tree stump and one full tree whilst pruning the very over grown apple tree.
My entire decking was cleaned, lawn mown, shrubs and bushes trimmed, brambles stripped and every element of rubbish removed. The transformation was fantastic ..
I could not recommend Paul high enough and look forward to having him back to help advise and plant my new shrubs and flowers over the coming weeks.
Proud of this quick but so beautifully finished patio pointing job in Reading. We haven"t laid the patio, but were asked to repoint it as whoever did lay it, put just a very weak mortar in joints. However even if that was a stronger mix it wouldn"t solve the issue. Cement / sand mix as a pointing compound is a cheapest option but never a quality one. Mortar cracks and crumbles .. You need a special pointing compound which we used here and use on many other landscaping projects that we do. It is not cheap but long lasting and very effective.
